  • FPO Replacements

In my magazine, Resonance, I created advertisements for different products. My original designs with the placement imageries had to be changed a little bit once I got my actual photos taken. I want to go through each advertisement one by one and discuss my process.

The first advertisement is for Redbull. My original design and revised design are pretty much similar. The only thing I changed was how I adjusted the text box. The original design had the text set in a way that was inconsistent with the spacing, so then I adjusted it by breaking up the next into sections so the spacing would be even. I then took a picture of the Redbull cans using the lightbox in the photography studio. I used Photoshop to touch up the cans, trying to get rid of any specks or dents from the cans and lightened the colors a bit.

Same thing as my previous posts, all of the imagery would be slightly off because of them being set in CMYK.

  • Portfolio Show Campaign

We finished building our portfolio show campaign pieces. For my design, I used Adobe InDesign as the background of my pieces to reflect our program. Since we’re being taught the software that they use in the industry, I felt it was appropriate for the portfolio show. To me, it feels like it would show the audience that we are efficient with Adobe software. I tried my best to use the school’s accent colors of green and orange as well. Check out how I did my poster!

(Ignore the offness of the colors as the PDF was set for CMYK, I didn’t feel like changing it to RGB for the blogs sorry.)

  • Re-shooting photos for ads

For the ads I built in layout, they all had some sort of FPO imagery. My goal is to make sure I take photos of the products I used and replace the FPO before we print out our magazines next semester.

  • Bottle photography

We took photos of clear and opaque bottles and used different techniques and light setups. For the clear, we used two black brackets at the sides of the bottle, so it creates an edge that will separate the bottle from the white background. For the opaque, we used a black paper cutout behind the bottle so you don’t see through the bottle and see the excess. Check them out!

  • Studio Portrait Photography

For this assignment, I learned the different lighting setups and the term for each one. Check them out!

  • Blog priority

This semester, I have been severely procrastinating on posting blogs every week. I want to do better and manage my time wisely so I don’t put myself in an inconvenient situation again.

  • Shopping during winter break

This year, I have many people I need to get presents for. Not just for Christmas, but some of my friends have December birthdays so I want to be able to get them something special.

  • Plans to boost mental health

This winter break, I want to spend my free time playing some games I haven’t played yet, like Hogwarts Legacy. I also want to start watching the live-action Netflix series, Avatar the Last Airbender. I’m also going to take this time to get back into drawing again as I haven’t gotten the chance to draw for fun in a very long time.

  • Last day of fall semester

Today is technically the last day of the fall semester, I still have an exam and presentation to finish for my online classes before I’m fully set for break. Almost there!

  • Finished Revision of Magazine

For the magazine project, I put together “Resonance” and finished creating a whole document that included each magazine element we’ve been working on. I added folios at the bottom of the pages by utilizing the master page feature on InDesign. Check it out!
